Just where has the month of March ,April, and May gone? It is so true that the older we get that time "quickly" passes on... Any way,"Happy Birthday (Rudy)...3/30/27...No brithday cake and that stuff. We had a visit from Lowell and Velva (from Pm.Desert). We had a good time at The Sizzlers, good food and sharing what was happening in our lives. We were also treated by Paul and Vicki and Grege and Linda...It is a blessing to have time with our love-ones, that God has brought in to our lives. Earthquakes, floods, landslides, wind, etc...a record year for rain and for allergy, of which I suffer with! Yes, I am still going strong at Huntington Memorial Hospital, and noted as "The Chaplain with the walking stick...due to my weakness of my legs... I have been volunteer chaplain since about July 2007 with 800 hours of service. Every day is a new experience - it is not like visiting your church people. I depend upon the Holy Spirit and God's grace upon grace what to say, do and react in "circumstances". Helen has a new leg brace. still gets around walking, wheelchair, powered skooter... Oh yes, I forgot that I am on the Visitation Team of Lake Ave. Church....

The final week of January (2010) was a real hightlight in our journey which we shall never forget. It was about 56 years ago that we started the TriCounty Baptist Church with a few believers, located in a new houseing area on the north side of Cincinanati, Ohio. (This was a Divine Appointment). A young girl (age 12 +) attended TCBC - Melany...the daughter of stanley and katty Carr. Helen mentored Melany. When we departed to a call to be pastor of Calvary Baptist of Urbana, Ill.; we shall never forget Melany's response :"Helen, I am going to marry a preacher because of you"...(and she did). Pastor George and MELANY Thomas came to Monrovia, Ca. for a series of meetings at the Restored Life Fellowship Church. We were able to visit and attend a meeting with couples and the morning Worship Service to hear Pastor Thomas - The Thomas' have four children serving the Lord - needless to say.( A family, totally devoted, faithful, servants of our Lord!!! As we reflect on these precious moments, we shall always be reminded that God, our Heavenly Father has PLANS for His Childern.

As to may muscle weakness problem...I have had numerous falls and a concusion - it is a blessing...God's was of reminding me - that as we grow older with our ackes and pains that we can still rejoice - as we look forward to a perfect body! WOW! Less I forget, During 2009, Helen under went two surgeries (carotid artery and gall blatter). Recently helen spent 4 day in the hosiptal because of an infection - never identified. As of now, Helen is doing great after 20 years of a stroke.
as we now have entered 2010 ...New Year's day we were with the Hords', the Oates and the Beauchmps to watch the Rose Bowl game. Helen's team won (Ohio). Grace Oates presented Helen with a Buck-eye neck-lase. I am still active as a volunteer chaplain at the Huntington Memorial Hospital. ( two days a week)..as of January 27th I have 750 hours as chaplain Not bad for a 82 year oldster. Visitation at the hospital requires much walking. Only by God's grace and with a cane (because of my (Myasthenia ( muscle weakness)) that i am able to carry on. I enjoy doing what I do and yet it is very burdensome and heart breaking; and it a great opportunity to "sow the Seed" and share words of encouragement and comfort to those who "hurt" and pray for them..needless to say - it is a humbling experience.

So true...time flies...As I reflect on the latter months of 2009...Thanksgiving Day - we enjoyed our time with the Group at Greg and Linda Rivera's home with Linda's family from St.Louis and Paul and Vicki Hord (precious time of fellowship) and good food! (Roni came home for a brief visit between Thanksgiving and Christmas for her grandmother's memorial service (Dear Roni never changes!) Prior to Christmas we all met at Stan/Joan Smith's home for a Christmas gift exchange - more fun just to be with our brothers and sisiters in Chist. Joan's family were present also Greg (Linda was home sick) and Rick and Debbie Merry and Paul and Vicki.......Finally...2o10...New Years Day we were with the Hords, the Oates and the Beauchamps to watch the Rose Bowl Football game...guess what...Helen's team were the winners (Ohio) Grace Oates presented Helen with a handmade Buckeye neck-lace...to be continued.....
